My path to launching a The Savvy Senior came from several failed attempts at other careers over the last 20+ years, that never seemed to work out. After professional attempts in human resources, hospitality, and retail sales to administration management, marketing and rail car cleaning, ... it was time for a new adventure with my career!

It started with an accident, a close family member, aged 73, injured with a broken back. 

After going through this situation with a loved one, I came to see and think differently about older adults aging-in-place, adult children caring for aging parents, seniors that are alone, and recognized the complex pressures facing many busy families nowadays.

Understanding the limitations older adults are facing, not just in unforeseen circumstances, but in managing every-day life, so many don't have the support they need, and ... A-HA!​​​

​As Calgary's senior population continues to grow, more families are facing the challenges of coordinating care with multiple providers, trying to access local resources, and helping loved ones remain safe and engaged at home. Our goal is to support the aging journey by providing reliable, compassionate, and personalized support that promotes independence, dignity, and confidence. Not every senior needs more hands-on healthcare hours, rather, many need HUMAN hours instead.​​​
